Are Bodybuilding Steroids and PED’s worth it?

The use of bodybuilding steroids and performance enhancing drugs (PED) are unfortunately quite popular within some bodybuilding circles, particularly when people want to win a contest or improve their physique and will use all measures possible to do so. But sadly, no matter how effective it is in stimulating the body to build muscles, these enhancers may still provide detrimental side effects in the long run.

Until now, there’s still an existing debate on whether is safe to use steroids and performance-enhancing drugs for bodybuilding. Health Professionals always claim that these bodybuilding tools are dangerous to use. However, bodybuilders who rely on it say otherwise.

Anabolic steroids are commonly used to bulk up muscles. These drugs are can help increase lean muscle mass and increase body weight as well as enhance masculine characteristics. When used regularly, steroids can bring much faster and better results than the natural ways of building muscles, you can check to find out more about the benefits of steroids. Apparently, that’s the main reason why body builders find these drugs attractive.

Aside from Anabolic steroids, Testosterone and HGH are another hormone that can help you achieve an Adonis-like built. Basically, testosterone helps enhance strength, improve body composition and significantly enhance the muscle size. Continuous use of testosterone could elevate your energy levels, which would enable you to do more exercises than the usual. HGH or Human Growth Hormone, on the other hand, can aid in the muscle recovery and repair as well as to decrease fat storage and increase muscle growth.

These hormones can be combined or used as it is. Either way, it can provide faster results and a stress-free workout.

The Side Effects of Steroids and Performance Enhancing Drugs

Although it’s tempting to use bodybuilding steroids and Performance enhancers, it’s important to consider the side effects that it could bring into the body. Just like what they say, anything that is not natural that alters the normal function of your system will eventually harm the body in one way or another.

Anabolic Steroids

Anabolic steroids are taken intramuscularly. Sometimes they can be taken orally and topically. When used for a very long time, it can increase a person’s risk of deadly health conditions such as high blood pressure or heart attack and prostate cancer. Other side effects include, reduce sperm count, infertility, shrinking of testicles, breast development and severe acne.

To boost the testosterone levels in the body, a dieter can include testosterone supplements in the diet or take it in capsule form. Although it can up the energy levels, testosterone abuse may lead to Low HDL-cholesterol levels, testicular atrophy, prostate enlargement, and damage in the liver and kidneys.

HGH comes in injectable forms. It cannot be purchased over the counter unless with a doctor’s prescription. HGH is not approved by the FDA to be used as a weight loss supplement because it unauthorized cause awful side effects such as higher risk of joint and muscle pain, swelling in the arms and legs, insulin resistance and carpel tunnel syndrome.

If you are or have ever contemplated taking steroids to help you lose weight and gain muscle, I would recommend you not. I personally can’t emphasize strongly enough just how dangerous these sort of practices can be for your health not to mention the potential for illegal consequences should a figure of authority find out.
